Dealing with water drippings in bottom tray?

What is a solution for the water buildup in the bottom tray. Food dies and it's a mess to clean up. Is there a screen bottom that works best? I have zoo med Cages. Medium size. And it's a plastic bottom tray that comes with the kit.

What do you all do to make this easier and better?

Paper towels can absorb a lot and are easy to change out. Or, you can install a simple drain and put a bucket underneath the cage...depending on what the cage sits on. If you look at the subforum "cages and supplies" there's a sticky topic titled drainage...get creative. Lots of ideas there.
