Debris in eye.

I have a juvenile veiled who had a little bit of eye irritation and squinting, we thought it may have been vitamin A deficiency so we increased the dosing frequency. But now we've noticed a little bit of debris (possibly from the "repti-vite" itself). It's not directly on the eyeball but more towards the beginning of the cone. Its a small particle but he still seems to be agitated by it. I was wondering if there was anything anyone would suggest? I tried a saline solution but he's not a big fan of that. His humidity is at a constant 60 - 70 percent and his temperature during the day is about 85 and about 75 at night. He still has a good appetite but a real bad attitude. Doesn't like any form of interference with his cage. The lighting also doesn't seem to be an issue, he has plenty of cover from it but decides to constantly bask directly under it as he has from day one. But only over the past week has there been an issue. We've had him over a little over a month.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Welcome to the forums. I’d give him very long warm showers to start with to see if he can wash it out. If that doesn’t work I recommend a vet visit with a vet that’s knowledgeable about chameleons.

Veileds do not need a constant high humidity. It’s ok for it to drop and then go back up with his mistings.

This is how I recommend keeping young veileds: https://www.chameleonforums.com/blo...-with-young-veiled-or-panther-chameleons.325/

If you go to the vet this is the best eye meds.

I do have some tobramycin from the vet for our cats. Would that be safe to use? Is it considered universal?
