Do many of you do this?

Place a small dish of gut load in your chameleon's cage if you free range crickets, locusts, and such?

If you cup feed, do you put some small scraps of gut load in with the feeders?

Do you hope that your chameleon picks some up while zapping a bug? Or do you just hope all the food is gobbled up by the bugs for a super fresh gut load?

I keep a small pile of dry gut load in the cage. May pin a carrot on the screen too if I think my panthers being picky with his crickets.

yes..and for meal worms i put like two or three lil peices of oatmeal...

also one thing i do is put a small amount of supplement in the cup (for cup feeding) and swirl them around..that way if the cham misses they get a shot of calcium..

but ive found it keeps them from chewing on the plants, or possibly my geckos (my chams are free range)

I'm with Ferret and PantherMan, feeders rarely make it longer than 5 or 10 mins in my feeding station. I only feed 5 morning and evening. Even the 5-6 worms or locusts I put in, throughout the day, free range don't stand a chance. I swear he can count. Once I visit his enclosure to put them in, he hunts until he's found them all, then he goes and basks.
