It might be hard to tell from the picture but in only a week it seems that Doc has grown significantly. I haven't weighed him but it looks like he is a bit bigger and a week ago I wasn't even positive he was male but now his spurs have grown a bit and are easy to see.
He is also behaving differently but I guess that is just him getting used to his new home. As you can see by the bite marks in the picture he just started snacking on his pothos plant. He also just started wandering lower in his cage. The first few days he would never leave his basking spot but now I catch him climbing down almost to the bottom and just looking around. I've even seen him hang from the lowest branch by his back feet, stretch out as if he is trying to reach a cricket, but nothing is there. Is he looking for food? Or water? Or is he just exploring and getting away from the heat of the basking spot? I can't imagine it is food because I feed him plenty and he has never had to go down there for food. The crickets always run up the cage right to him. And he has a dripper and I spray his cage 3 times a day but I never see him drinking. Although he shows no signs of dehydration so he must drink when I'm not in the room.
I just ordered a lot of plants for his cage too. Right now he has 2 pothos but there is still plenty of room to use so I'm adding spanish moss, a couple orchids and some tillandsias to make it look nice. I'll post some pictures when they're all up.
