Does my butt look ok?

I noted reptars butt looked a little swollen ish. I think it might be normal but I just wanted to check.

Did it go back to normal right away? It is hard to tell much from the picture, however that red on his butt is not good.

This thread title is misleading!;) It looks like you may have been flashed, But like Laurie said, if it did not/wont go back in.. It is a prolapse, and is not a good thing. If it is still out, gently rub some KY on it. If it does not go back in it may be time to see a vet

If that is how it looks all the time then it is a problem. It may not be a full prolapse like you've seen in other pictures, but it could be a partial prolapse (still bad), or an impacted hemipene. That's not normal.

I second the ky and to keep an eye on it. Did it happen after a poop? Or to be more precise did you see the chameleon poop then the prolapse occurred...

His vent could look like this after passing a large fecal, or after letting his hemipene hang out for a bit.

IMO, if it stays like this longer than 10min, applying KY is a must.

If it is the same after an hour, a vet is a must.

Keep a close eye on him.

I just took him out and took another pic. This is what it looks like now.

Mhe, he is fine.

I have seen my guy like that once before.

It went away, and never happened again.

It was when he was around 6 months old, and getting really randy for the first time.

I would still keep a close eye on him, in case he actually prolapses, and it becomes an issue.

He's around 6 months right now do maybe he just likes to hang out a little while basking? I've seen him do it more than once but it always goes back to normal later.

Your first picture reminds me of what happened to my last Panther when he got some sperm plugs stuck in his vent that was irritating it and causing some swelling. It's possible he passed them on his own. Keep an eye out for it happening again next time he poops. He might need help removing them if they're just tucked back inside.

I agree though the 2nd picture looks normal to me now. He's really cute BTW
