Does she look healthy?

I have a female veiled chameleon on which I posted a while back if she was healthy. I want to know how she looks right now if she's doing good or not. Her cage is 16x16x30. She gets fed 5 calcium dusted medium crickets, an occasional hornworm as well. How does she look? All tips are greatly appreciated

She looks a lot older than 2.5 months to me. My first thought was she is gravid. A really young veiled is a solid light green--no patterns. They have little thin spindly legs. That is no 2.5 month old.

Her dark colors might be from stress. She really needs more cover up high. I bought pots of sword ferns that work really well for that. They are a tall fern and can can go up through the perches you have. Live plants are MUCH better for them to drink off of, too. I think I paid around $12 for a big pot jammed with ferns. I just cut the root ball up with a machete and then have many pots.

I agree with jajeanpierre. She looks to be around five months old right now. A 2 1/2 month old cham wouldn't have that much mass on their legs and tail but it's difficult to tell from the photo. How long is her body excluding the tail?

I agree, she does look a lot older than 2 months... I recommend finding her age as it is important for her care.

I use this for my panther and he loves it. I mount a plastic cup to the side of his habitat and turn it on twice a day. He likes to sit right in front of it. Its nice because it automatically shuts off , no worry's when your away

She looks more like she is about to shed than she looks dehydrated. Her eyes look full and plump and her body--what I can see from the photo--look full.

An automatic mister is a million times better and more effective than any humidifier. I am now of the opinion that an automatic mister that won't break if it runs dry (!!!) like a MistKing is as necessary as a cage. I didn't always feel that way.

The humidifier keeps the humidity up by evaporating water, the cham cannot drink from this. The automatic mister is like rain, it also helps with humidity and the cham can drink the water that collects on leaves.

After I mist him with warm water I use the humidifier to increase humidity and condensation. Im sure there are many ways to accomplish , but I was just giving you a suggestion. I don't think she is dehydrated, she looks dry.

I bought mine from target by the pharmacy. It's a travel humidifier, its small but puts out quite a bit., but no worries on damaging water

I mist her two three times a day, for about a minute each or until she drinks, whenever I'm gone I just use a "cheap dripper" which is basically a cup with a hole in the bottom . I might think on getting a mister soon.
