I've been trying to find a good balance in a dripper but can't!! I've got a misting system and I'm feeding hornworms so dhydration isn't present yet but I wanna set up that dripper now any ideas and how big to poke holes and what u guys used to do it!!!!!!
Washed out coke bottle, tubing from a broken mist system. hole in the bottom of the bottle that's a snug fit with the tubing, fed down into the cage. I use one of those black paper clip things to reduce the flow to a drip. I also screw the bottle cap on after filling it with water. really simple, and i didn't spend a dime.
I use a plastic bottle, and a new IV tubing I got from my Dr. I just asked if I could have one and what I was going to be using it for and he said sure. Drilled a hole in the bottom and squeezed the hard insert into the hole works perfectly.
I like my little dripper! Been using one for 9 years and it still work perfectly. Otherwise I use a plastic tub of some sort and use a small pin (20 or 18 gauge or so) to poke a hole. If it doesn't drip fast enough, I poke another.
I use the little dripper also and it works great!!! You can get them at petstores and they are not that expensive. They are nice because you can regulate the speed of the drip.
