I let my dripper go throughout the day yesterday after reading several places that I should. My new Cham seemed to like it as he drank throughout the day. But now I read u should not hVe it on more than 30min , 3 times a day. I would let it go all day except last night I had flooding at the bottom of cage that I was lucky enough to clean up. So which should I do? Any advice to avoid flooding?

Well you have to consider that your Cham will not be drinking while asleep. So no dripping at night . Just during the day is fine.
If you can drip all day long at one drop every 2/3 seconds without flooding . Then go for it.
You can mist too much tho, but dripping is fine.(Your Cham can avoid the drip if needed, not soo much a misting from a mist system too fequently)
I don't use the dripper at night, only during the day. This is only second day with my Cham so I'm still experimenting. But I'll try dripping slower today. For misting I misted four times yesterday wetting the entire enclosure to raise humidity . But he didn't like it so I didn't mist directly. I was thinking about automatic mister , would I still need a dripper if I got an automatic mister ? Or can I just let that go every hour for a min or two

Well since he is still young hand misting will do. You just want to make sure the cage gets fullly dry inbetween mistings.
I would still drip , so your cham has avaliable water at all times.
My Chams drink both from the dripper and from mistings. I did have one that used to only drink from mistings (he now does both).
PS: A misting system is more of a luxury deal. It is a lottt less worry when away from home.

Figure out a way to drain the water so you don't get flooding. Makes it alot easier.

I have the large Zoo Med dripper....It drips all day. The drops eventually end up in a tupperware container with screen for a lid. I attached a drain hose at the bottom, side. It self drains into a 1 gallon milk jug underneath the cage. This works well
I am doing the exact same thing, I used a deli cup, drilled a hole at the bottom, put some aquarium tubing into that, then ran that down to the floor to a milk jug. Also, I put a screen over the top so the crickets (and my cham) don't fall in and drown. Works great!
