I have not used one recently but when I did they all seemed to have a short life span. I hope someone with more recent experience can help! Depending on $ you can get the basic mist king mister for around 100 bucks or so. Good luck with your hunt for a good dripper :)

Totally making one of Sandra's drippers. I've never given it much thought since I've always used a mister. The only thing I thought of before this (other than buying a 15 dollar bucket from petco?) was poking a hole in a water bottle. Sandra's idea looks cheap, easy, and efficient. I think I might add a cover to the top of the water to push down onto the water thus giving it the force it needs to push the water up the hose line. I want to put my dripper on a shelf I just put up about a foot below the top of the cage. This ought to the make it easy to shelf and drip. Especially with an adjustable valve. Also, I suppose it'll help keep debris out.

for those having drippers stop working, is it because they plastic has been exposed to too much UV? or because they not been cleaned often enough (scum, hardwater mineral buildup)? or?
