Dubia babies!

First thing I ever bred in my life! I just got 30 of them 2 weekends ago and put two heat pads on the bottom of the tank and a 60 watt red light. Bam little dubes already. Pretty cool. They eat the water crystals like crazy. But not sure if they are eating their food. What do you guys recommend feeding them especially the new babies.

You can feed them a gutload dry mix, it is the easiest, doesn't dry out like fresh food. You can buy it from members- "Cricket Crack" is good for roaches as well.

I do not feed a separate gutload to grow them faster, I just make and use a blend of alfalfa pellets, wheat bran, and dandeleion, (with several other ingredients).

Good thing about Dubias, they can eat about anything, and at 80 degrees or so, you will have a herd in no time.:D

Yeah I was pretty amazed. First I started out with 1 heat pad. Only 8 watts or something and then it got pretty cold here recently, so I threw another 8 watt heat pad and then after reading people said bump the heat so I added a 60 watt red light. I just happened to lift the egg carton today and I saw a whole bunch of little white critters. I bought this dry gutload from the person I bought the Dubia from, but i cannot tell if they are eating it or not. I figured it would be all gone by now. They kill the water crystals though. I put new crystals in every day and they are gone by the next day. These water crystals are the best thing ever. I wish I knew about these a while ago as my crickets love them too.
