Dubia breeding question

So I have two adult roaches, and a shit ton of smaller ones. Idk if they've been having babies because I haven't had the adults very long. However, when I was feeding them (I use romaine lettuce usually) I noticed the female walking around with something sticking out of her butt! Is it an egg sac? And if so should I separate it into a different container? I'm a little freaked out by touching the roaches, so is it wise to move her and let her lay somewhere else?

That actually looks like a really healthy ooth being turned over and such, it looks like it may be ready to hatch soon, so she will likely be pushing out babies very soon as long as she doesn't randomly drop them.

Oh and before I give them as feeders I isolate them in a container for a few days and only feed them a cricket gutloading thing

That stuff is useless and definitely worthless as a gutload, most current gutloads are not good unless fed on an ongoing basis in my opinion. But Fluker's literally doesn't do anything it claims to do.

Well that is disapointing. Should I feed the roaches the same plants you could feed a veiled? Or is there a specific food they go crazy for? I liked the flukers thing because it makes me not worry about watering the roaches, so is it okay to leave chunks of it in the colony in case some get thirsty?

Honestly fruit and veggies give them all the water they need... idk why people think they need more XD. But all you need to gutload them with is fruits and veggies of variety regularly. I feed probably 40 different types through out an entire month

Oh, so table scraps are pretty good then? And honestly I've only been worried because in the room where I keep them it's been getting about 105 every day. Of course, roaches are ectotherms so I don't know if they need more water lol.

As long as they have a source of moist food like veggies and fruit for a couple hours a day they should be fine ^^ trust me

Sounds great. Thanks for the advice, I keep getting mixed signals from guides online. It's nice to talk to someone who knows what they're doing

<3 of course sweetie, feel welcome to message me directly if you have feeder questions. if I can't answer it I will direct you to someone who can.
