Dubia feeding

I'm going to try small dubias for my Panther, so should I cup feed or let them roam in the cage? I read pros and cons to both, so looking for tips and advice. Also, how many at a time should I offer. He is about 11 1/2 months old.

I either hand feed them (individually) or use a cup... Because you probably don't want 'roaches' wandering around the enclosure. They're too good at hiding or even worse, escaping the enclosure.

Agreed with Nervous. As soon as a dubia hits the ground, they scuttle about finding a nice tight area to wedge themselves into. I prefer to feed them via cup method. Unless they are the huge adult size roaches that I feed to a few of my larger chameleons....then I just hand feed them!!

Agreed! I mostly hand feed them!

I hand feed the dubias only now. For some reason, when I cup feed, there's always one or two that seem to be found in the cage later on in the night. I can speak from experience on escaping dubias. I found one tonight on the underside of the water bucket lid tonight when refilling it!

Like others said free ranged dubias wedge into a dark spot and don't move until night time usually.. Hand/cup feeding is your best bet.. Most of the time I'll put one on the screen as they tend to run when you do that and it gets the chams attention.. In a cup they don't move very much and some of mine have no interest..
