I read somewhere , from someone who sells Dubias that you are supposed to let the frasse build up to 1 inch. Is this true? I usually clean my colonies every 2 wks. or sooner.

Might be true, I don't know. But I keep mine on egg crates and I keep them clean. Just how I am. I seem to have a great colony going.

Ditto, i keep food containers in there and pull them out bi-weekly. I completely clean and strain out my colony once a month. I seem to get the colony to produce the best for me at least. When i messed with them a lot they didn't produce as much, also make sure you have it 90+ degrees.

Vertical egg crates, good temps, plenty of hydration, high protein diet to keep down wing biting, large enough bin to keep from having to clean constantly, dark surroundings (active at night).
