Easy DIY Drainage Solution

I have gotten so much help here I thought I would post a drainage solution I figured out when setting up an new cage over the weekend.

The basic idea is to heat up the PVC base with hot water, mold it to the required shape, and then re-harden. I did this in my slop sink and it worked like a charm.

STEPS
1.) Before putting the cage together take the pvc floor and the square frame to a slop sink (or a container large enough for it to fit in).

2.) Find weights and place them along the edges so they don't pop up when putting pressure on the center of the pvc square (I used bricks).

3.) Run hot water over pvc until it gets soft (does not take long) and press the center of the pvc.

4.) Hold this for about a minute, drain the water, run cold water while holding.

5.) The PVC should cool instantly and will remain in this shape (perfectly sloped to the center). Drill holes in the center and Voila! Perfect drainage.

Good luck!

As stated on another thread, this is friggen genius! Thanks for the tip! :)

Wonderful tip! My only issue that always kills me is the terrific water running down the screen that dodges the pcv bottom

Offsetting my drainage tub to the wettest side is my only solution there, haha. I put those plastic office chair mats all over my cham room to deal with water that goes astray.

I use a large rabbit tray measures 30"x30" over hangs 5 in. A side and my cage sits in it. Drilled holes in center of tray and pcv right above it.. would work well with ur idea aswell :)
