Eating soil

my female yemon has started to eat soil from the plants in her cage can any one tell me wy ?

How old is she? Could she be digging? It is thought perhaps it is natures wray of them obtaining certain minerals. What are you gutloading feeders with? If she is eating it you could cover the soil with washed large flat rocks.

Mine just started doing this as well, a young male veiled. My last jackson was doing it too. Granted for the first 2-3 weeks I wasnt supplementing with anything, but just started using a daily calcium supp w/o d3. So im hoping he doesnt have the need to anymore, although I covered everything with rocks so he wouldnt be able to anyway.
