Edit: Its coccidia

Just finished cleaning for the day. Tomorrow or Sunday I will re-clean amaro's cage with the peroxide.

Should I use peroxide on the walls around amaro's cage, or soap and water?
Soap and water is fine for the walls hun.

Okay.

Heres some pictures of him, how does he look?

These are him at the vet. He was a bit puffy and mad after the vet came in lol.

Okay so amaro made a huge mess in his cage, I was out of the house for 5 hours and when I just came back, he had knocked his cricket cup out of the nook it was sitting in, I don't see any crickets around the cage so he either hunted them down or he knocked it over after he ate them all. Then he pooped as well. I think i'm just going to clean up his cage with the peroxide now.

Update: Hes been doing pretty good! He looked a little dehydrated yesterday, but he looks fine today. He eats really well, about 6-8 crickets a day, sometimes more. Cleaned his cage with the peroxide, wiped down the walls around him with soap. I wipe down the floor around him and his table with wet, slightly soapy paper towels everyday.

Hopefully he keeps doing well!

Do you guys have any tips on how to keep him hydrated? He has been a bit stressed out lately (but still eating like a beast) because ive had to hold him way more than I usually do, because I weigh him every few days and cleaning his cage, and most of all getting him out of places hes not supposed to be. Like yesterday he tried to climb to the very top of the side screen. Every single time he's fallen is because of screen climbing, so I always gently remove him and put him on his basking branch when I see him doing this, and he runs off for 5-10 minutes then comes back and basks and does chameleon things. I think because of this extra stress he hasn't been drinking as well (but he is eating just fine lol. )

IF HES EATING WELL TRY FEEDING HIM HORN WORMS !! THEY ARE BAISICLY BIG BAGS OF WATER :)

I CANT GET ANY UNLESS I ORDER THEM, AND ITS NOT OVERNIGHT SHIPPING :ROFLMAO:

but I suppose I could buy them from the pet store (its like 8-10 bucks for 4  )

Rainbow mealworms ships quickly and I get them on the opposite coast of US in 2 days. Silkworms are also good for hydration, but not quite as juicy as hornworms.

Could bump up misting times or try the dropper trchnique

My misting times are 4 minutes in the morning, and five at night. then there is a couple 10-20 seconds misting's throughout the night. After the mist I find him and his face with water beads everywhere on him. Should I make the misting longer?

Thats plenty. If you want visual confirmation I’d get hornworms or try the dropper technique but it takes a LONG time for my guys to drink from the dropper.

Ive tried a dropper before, ive never seen him have interest in it. Ill get some hornworms, hopefully he'll eat them lol. He doesn't get them often.

You should not be misting while he is asleep. This disrupts their sleep. For night-time humidity (which is the best source of hydration in chams), it is best to use a humidifier

Your little dude is looking good. Have you tried nutribac dietary supplement for reptiles & amphibians. It's a probiotic and helps out with their gut flora prevent bad bacteria. You can lightly dust it to his crickets and has a lot of beneficial properties.

Oh, early on I was told misting at night would be fine. Didn't really give it a second thought. I have been looking at getting a humidifier anyways, i'll be sure to stop misting at night. Thanks! :D

I will look up on it and see if it's something I will use. Thanks for mentioning it!

Update: So amaro has been doing well, eating well drinking well. But I have noticed some white mineral deposits around his nose, likely because I have been over dusting. Normally when I accidentally put too much powder I just use my finger to get some of it out, but I don't want any chances of cross contamination so if I overdose now I just put it in anyways. So today I noticed it has built up again, so I took him out and gently wiped it away with a a barley damp paper towel. About 10 minutes later the deposit was back. why is this?

Also, he pooped. It smells a bit but not overly bad. If he still has some coccidia left, the second dose will kill it right?

I figured it was normal, but I just wasn't aware it would come back right away when wiped away.

He was gaping a bit earlier, but his basking spot had jumped to 91f ( I fixed it dw). It's my understanding they gape when they have RI or when their temperatures are too hot. Is this correct?
