Hi everyone. My Cham is a female veiled chameleon, she is approximately 8 to 9 months old. She has been in my care for 5 1/2 months. Once a day on average.I have been feeding her crickets superworms, wax worms I feed her 2 to 3 times a day they are gut loaded from Petco .I supplement her with a dustin of reptile vita vitamin D. She is watered by a drip system and sprayed four times a day by hand . Her fecal matter is dark with a white center and is dry looking . In the past she was a very strong eater . She has a very big belly and large fecal deposits now she has not eaten in 10 days she has good color. She is in a medium size reptile breeze screen cage, her lighting is a zoo med double lamp holder with a night light and a repdibreeze 5.0 UVB 14 W tropical mini compact florescence. Her cages temperature is currently 83° and humidity is 40. She has a pithos plant . She is in my bedroom pretty high traffic there , fans are in my room pointing towards my bed she is about 4 feet off the ground .

She looks to me like she's getting ready to lay a clutch . You have her lay bin set up ?

You said..."gut loaded from Petco"...I wouldn't trust any petstore to properly feed or gutload the insects. I'd do it myself. I feed/gutload crickets, superworms, roaches, etc a wide assortment of greens (dandelion greens, kale, collards, endive, escarole, etc) and veggies (carrots, sweet potato, sweet red pepper, squash zucchini, etc) and a bit of fruit ( berries, melon, apples, pears, etc).

you said..."I supplement her with a dustin of reptile vita vitamin D"...the recommended dusting are a phosphorous-free calcium powder at almost all feedings, a phosphorous-free calcium/D3 powder twice a month lightly and a vitamin powder twice a month.

You said... "In the past she was a very strong eater . She has a very big belly and large fecal deposits now she has not eaten in 10 days" ...has she ever turned dark in the background? Tried to dig in the pot in the cage? She might be gravid.
It's recommended that you have an appropriate egglaying container (opaque, at least 12" x 12" x 8" filled with moist washed playsand) in the cage of all egglaying females to help prevent eggbinding because they can lay eggs without having mated.

Thank you for the great tips and information. She does currently have an egg laying in her cage filled with clean sand and Coconut husk. What would cause her not to eat possibly cause she's filled with eggs and egg bound?

If she starts to dig, but fails, IMMEDIATELY go to the vet. She can die from egg-binding within 48 hours. Please research Follicular Stasis. I see it in many Petco/PetSmart sold chameleons.
