Eye Bulge, What the Heck!

So I came in to feed my Panther Cham, he is 4 months old, and when I walked up to the cage his eye was doing this crazy eye bulge move. I was as if he was popping it in and out, rolling it around, it looked like something from a sifi movie as if there was a finger moving under the skin. As soon as he saw me it went back to normal and he looked at me like, "oh, hey, you here to feed me." I was so bizarre.

Considering his reaction to me and that he is acting totally fine, I am assuming this is normal, like he was stretching the muscles in the eye or something.

Has anyone ever seen their cham do this?

I'm trying to come up with the right words to describe it but nothing does. It was like his eye look back and the base of it bulged out like a ballon and then rolled around.

So, have you seen this before then?

I think RyU is right. This is a common way for them to remove the stuff from their eye. Have you seen him do it again since you first saw it?

As was stated this is a normal thing.

CHams bulge and rotate their eyes to remove debris from in the eye turret, or to lubricate the eyes after a misting.

So long as the eye goes back to normal, the cham is fine.

Great, thank you....

No I have not seen him do it again.

I was pretty sure it was a normal thing because of the way he acted after but it is always nice to hear if other, more experienced keepers, have seen it. You guys are a wealth of information!!

I had the exact same thing happen to my Cham tonight! He is a 4 month old panther. It scared the crap out of me. It was buldging and blew up like a ballon and his eye was popping around crazy !
