my 2 year old male veiled seems healthy except for his right eye ,lately it has been swollen in the folds around his eye, now it looks like there is a coating over the eyeball, he eats from my hand cause his aim is off, is there anything I can do at home or does this require a vet. THank you James

You could try the shower thing, but really you should take it to a vet. There are a bunch of possible reasons for the swelling and all the ones I can think of would be best treated by a vet.

Good luck, i hope he pulls through.

we are using a repti-glo 10.0 exo-terra bulb, also a heat lamp, he is in a 30 by 30 cage with no live plants I mist him 2 or three times a day he gets calcium powder everyday and herptavite once every week or two.

Ive been on a Vitamin A crusade lately...LOL

The herptivite does not contain Vitamin A if my memory is correct.

Reptivite and Sandfire cham dust , do have vitamin A.

Many symptoms , including those you have described , can be caused by hypovitamosis A . Consider researching this issue as a possible cause.

If you choose to alter your supplementation , to include vitamin A, be advised, hypervitamosis A can damage the liver; care must be taken , not to overdose.

Is it a compact or a tube? 10.0 is a bit strong... What kind of cage?

Just take him to the vet, dont depend on these replies, thats the best advice i can give to you. In meanwhile give him showers, try to get him to drink.
