Looks like he is about to shed. As they get older, they don't shed as dramatically as they do as babies. Sometimes they get a dry, chalky look to their skin before a shed. He looks like he has that dull grey look they get before a shed. Could that be it?

I worry more about black marks or lumps than skin that looks chalky.
