Fake Plants in Cage for a veiled chameleon

Hi! I am getting a chameleon next month and am wondering if it's okay just to have fake plants in my cage and no live plants? I don't think I would be able to have the live plants and just wondering if all fake plants are okay? I might add live plants later on but at the beginning there would probably be no live plants unless I have to have them! Thanks!

It is not recommended for veileds or you risk them eating the fake plants and having impaction issues.

Oh?... I watched many videos of people saying that fake plants were fine for chameleons. I'll do more research!

Maybe for some chameleons, but veiled chameleons eat vegetation. If you do get fake plants, silk plants would probably be best.

Live plants are the way to go. Imagine if your cham takes a bite out of a fake leaf.... then what happens? Odds are it won't be able to digest and pass it.




If you are going to use fake, look for "Fluker's Pothos Repta-Vines".
