Live plants dont pose the same impaction risk if the animal eats the plant (accidentally or otherwise.) Live plants also help with humidity. Live plants are the way to go IMO. Just make sure they are non-toxic.

i was wondering what yallwpuld suggest for me to use.i seen alot of the palnts there were toxic.sorry for all the questions.jus wanna b safe

many use a Schefflera as they can cover up a lot of the space in a cage giving plenty of climbing and hiding spots for your Cham. Another popular one is the Hibiscus. The chams can even eat the flowers from the Hibiscus and many owners say they do.

Pothos is another one that is great... long vines for them to climb around on, and it does extremely well with misting and indoors (low light). Ive had hibiscus and schefflera's... and find that pothos are the easiest to maintain. Hibiscus needs full sun, unless you have a grow light it probably won't do well in the cage for long. Schefflera's did ok but after a few months it started to lose a ton of leaves due to over watering from all the misting. The only ones that really thrive no matter what, is pothos. They are almost impossible to kill and also dirt cheap.
