Farewell and Welcome

GREETINGS EVERYONE!

It has been quite some time since I have posted, commented, or viewed on this forum!

My farewell is to my ever so sweet and loving Cami the chameleon. She passed away last week very unexpectedly... my boyfriend was much more devastated by her passing and we both still feel the damage occasionally. :(

She was our very first chameleon and she is the reason why we have the family we have now. (2 non-related veiled males, One juvi veiled we have left from our sweet girl which we have decided to keep, a pair of crested geckos and 4 of their offspring, and now a newly hatched ambilobe! Not to mention the human baby growing in my belly! She didn't contribute to that one obviously but our family is going to be HUGE  )

Cami is featured in the 2015 Chameleon Forums calendar. (which I really need to get a copy of) She was in our care for over 2yrs... and will be with us forever. Not just in spirit, but because we decided to have her cremated. Is that weird??? I just couldn't let her go... we dont have a yard to bury her, and I wouldn't want some animal digging her up, and I am NOT going to just toss her is the garbage... She just means too much to the both of us to let her go. :(

On another note... Where there is death... there certainly is life. I was given a couple of ambilobe eggs by a breeder I had given my unsold veiled babies (from Cami) to. I did not ask for anything in exchange for them either, he just sent the eggs along with the shipping supplies I needed to send him my babies.

I'm sure there aren't many fans out there that like the idea of shipping or selling eggs and the idea is frowned upon, but again, I did not ask for the eggs and I wasn't going to toss them. So now... one has hatched! I am extremely excited as I have always wanted a panther, but I'm not as knowledgeable with them as I am with veileds.

Is it possible to determine the sex on the day they hatch? If so, can any of you help me sex this little one? Based off some threads I've read before... This one LOOKS like a female?? They are insanely smaller than veileds! (unless my babies were just freakishly big compared to the average veiled hatchlings)
