I have a small species of chameleon, carpet chameleon - f. lateralis, and would like to mix up the variety of insects I give her. Right now she eats crickets and phoenix worms. Also, she is wild caught.

I read your not supposed to give chams food bigger than the space between their eyes...so I couldn't feed her hornworms could I? I am going to order some silkworms and saw those too.

You can feed her smaller hornworms. Its okay if Soft bodied worms exceed the space between her eyes.

You can feed her hornworms just not too big. Where ever you order from let them know you need the smallest available. They are expensive and feeding them off when they are really small might be a little pricey. Also when you recieve them put them in the coldest spot of your house so they dont grow as fast. Silkies are great. Again getting and feeding the small ones might be a little pricey. I would suggest ordering the eggs and chow and hatching out your own. You can then raise them to be the desired size. These guys you can control growth rate by giving them cooler temps and less food but not to less food or they will die. They are very easy to hatch and raise just follow the directions. You could get a roach colony going and feed the nymphs. Dubia nymphs are small enough to feed to my 2 month old panthers. Actually straight new born nymphs could be fed to my 2-3 week olds but I havent tried yet and my be just a little to big. Good luck!!!!!
