Feeding question

I was able to get a fruit fly culture delivered and that seems to be going well except that when I feed them, the flies come out of the container too fast and too many fall into the cage. My question is I see them crawling on the chameleons will this hurt them?

You can put your container of flies in the fridge for a short while to slow them down and then you can pick how many you want to feed. As far as I know the flies landing on you cham will not hurt them. but you may be feeding too many flies.:p

Hope that helps...

I usually tap the bottle. Tilt and then tap it a lil and tilt back and tap it some more so the rest falls back into the bottle.

Thanks for the info, I am having a great time with them. I'm glad my son was interested and we got them. I can sit and watch them for a long time. I also hold them everyday, they don't seem to mind.

becareful with handling your chams as this can cause unneeded stress which may ultimately affect your cham negatively in the long run.

good luck and welcome to the forum

Are you not allowed to handle them at all, even if they don't seem to mind or when you put your finger down they climb on quickly?

i poor my flys into a baggy, its a littlbe bit difficult at first, but once you get the hang of it...

*then again im doin like 10 dozen for my poison darts, 20 flies would be alot more difficult.
