Feeding Schedule

post your feeding schedule for your chams what do you feed them? when? how? and what kind of cham(s) is(are) it(they)? hehe
i'll start.
what i feed them- Crickets, Super Worms, and a few other insects here and there (my veiled also nibble on veggies) (any suggestions on other great feeders would be very helpful, but that would have to wait til payday hehe)
When i feed them- juveniles- everyday, adult - every other day
i use Rep-Cal vit and Calcium but i dont like them. any suggestions on a good brand for supplements? when it comes to the vitamin part i'm a little lost.
how i feed them- make em hunt. i have a small Gecko cave at the bottom of each cage with food for the crickets and i usually pour crickets into my hand and let the chams eat what they want and let the rest loose in the cage.
i have 1 juvi male panther, 1 juvi female panther, 2 juvi female veiled, 1 juvi male veiled and 1 adult male veiled.
come on guys and post your schedule or better yet suggest how i can make mine a million times better!!!!

in my opinion seeing each others feeding schedules and discussing them is a great way to learn how to improve your own. if there is one thing i have learned its that you shouldn't listen to those books. every time i went by the books my cham was unhappy and sick, when i took advice from keepers and breeders they became so much happier.
and im serious about the supplement. i know what kinds to use i just would like to know what brand names you guys think would be best

Try adding butterworms, silkworms, indian walking sticks, terrestrial isopods...
I actually like the RepCal brand of calcium. But an excellent calcium/mineral supplement is Miner-al O, made by Sticky Tongue Farms.

veiled's do eat veggies and a few panthers will eat fruit and veggies

i buy mine at small pet feeders they are cheap for one thing about $15.00

I breed many feeders, trade for others, buy some of them locally (my local options are better these days than ten years ago, after successfully lobbying a local shop to carry more than crickets and mealworms!) and yes I also buy online.

If you keep the heat under control and her feeding under control, and she doesnt see other chameleons, she may never lay eggs. I've had females reach a couple years without eggs, before I was ready to breed them.

Once they start producing, it can be difficult to stop them. I have one female that I seem to have been successful in ceasing egg production (just over a year since the last clutch) but another kept in the exact same way is an egg machine.

MANY veilds and a few panthers will eat veggies. Leafy greens are a good way to start, with The occassional piece of fruit (like grape) or other veg (like slivered carrot)

I aim for 80F in the basking spot. I feel that food availability (just enough, not too much) is likely more important or at least equally important. Yet i find it hard not to keep the food in check, especially in spring and summer when there is so much more available that I want to treat them all with.

Just males, I believe, or so it seems.

Veild females are more easily "controlled' than panthers, from what I've learned. I dont know anyone who has it down to a perfect system with panthers, including me.

thats good because we have one panther female and two veiled so im glad they are easier lol. we do want to breed them but i dont want any eggs until they are at their full adult size.
