ive had my cham for about 2 weeks now and hes been on an only cricket diet just today got meal worms just to get some variety because i realize he needs variety in his diet(also realize mealworms arent very nutrition), hes quiet small still 3/4 inches long body i was thinking hes too small for beattles what do you think?/some other feeding options while they are still smaller? i bought calcium powder a few days after his first feedings as i read and learned more but today i just realized the powder i have, zoo med repti calcium, also has d3 with it. ive read the d3 supplement is only need 2x a month and ive been feeding him all his crickets with this powder for about a week know. could he get too much d3? i stopped dusting them for now until i get some feedback. stinks i just went up to petco to get some calcium powder without d3 and they didnt have any every single one of their calcium powders had d3 with it. so as i said before is there a thing as too much d3?

3/4"? That's a pretty small Cham to have purchased. Or is it 3 to 4 inches? What specie is the Cham? Yes that is to much D3, D3 should be given twice a month, and I wouldn't recommend meal worms, there exoskeleton made of chitin is very hard, and very hard for a Cham to digest. We don't even give meal worms to our adult chams, just a personal preference on the subject of meal worms. The general rule is calcium without D3 at almost every feeding, D3 twice a month and a multivitamin twice a month. We use a multivitamin once a week and dust with a D3 multivitamin twice a month and works well for us. I would suggest filling out the asking for help form, so we can know more about your Cham and the set up you are using. Check out the care facts on this site specific to your specie.

Hi,
Yes, you can over supplement with D3. There are a lot of factors such as age, diet, natural sunlight and UVB lighting to consider.
Repasy makes a product called Calcium Plus LoD that we use and love. We use it along with their Super Cal. You will see many different opinions on the subject but pretty much everyone agrees that you can over supplement with D3 and should error on the lower side if you are concerned.
