Feeling terrible

I thought I had read somewhere that chams needed the heat lamp on at all times. After a few days of this our little guy was acting really out of it. He was probably tired! Turned off all lights last night and he seems a little more active this morning. Even had a brighter color this morning. This little guy already has our hearts and we are just trying our best!

If their enclosure drops too low at night in temp, then yes, they need a heat source 24-7. But a ceramic bulb with no light for night time. They need 12 hours of UVB/UVA and 12 hours of dark/sleep. Mine is new but already knows his routine and is in his pajamas with his tail curled up right at 9pm.

When it was lights on he was in his pjs during the day unless we went in to mist or flush his eye (he came to us with a closed eye). Can't believe I didn't catch on sooner

I've had mine for a month now and I turn the lights out at 9-930 he like to stay up late with no lights sometimes and get up early like 730-8 he funny

Op if the heat dose not go under the low 60s (someone correct me if I'm wrong) he will be fine with no heat at night

Just do the best you can if you have questions ask the ppl here are helpful and someone will give you answers I'm new to this also tho I've raised snakes & iguanas but this is not the same so I just troll through and read as much info as I can sometimes two or three time I'll read the same thing over again

Ya like AnimJason said Ceramic light bulb at night if need be but these creatures are heartier to the cold at night than many thing, they can easily go to 60 degrees but lower would require a ceramic bulb or better yet go glass terrarium and have a weak low wattage bulb on for like just the night and ur UVB bulb may provide enough heat for the glass terrarium during the day, every situation is different depending on ambient temps and humidity but glass works well in colder places just for the record. Lastly, if you don;t let em sleep they're known to literally drop dead (like all animals without sleep for 5 days+) so good think you caught it in time!

Oh my husband has to he used to be hot all the time got sick lost a lot of weight and now he's always cold my house is at 75 all times and I live in Phoenix Az
