Female Jackson.

Hello,
I recently purchased this female Jackson Chameleon. I’m pretty sure she is gravid, just want other opinions? And if she is, how much longer do think? Thanks.

If she didnt look so gravid I'd be thrown off by the horns. Jacksons are sexually dymorphic and usually only males have horns, so this is throwing me off lol. I'd have to refer to one of the more knowledgeable members.

If she is a wild caught import the odds are she is pregnant. That body shape tells me she is. I can't judge how far along but I would start preparing for babies.

I always used the three horn gauge to sex a Jackson's. If the cham pictured here isn't pregnant, are there any other indicators for sexing it?

She is pregnad as fuck. give her as much privacy as possible it can mees upp delivery or her Health in general. hwen they give birth can vary so it´s not to say how long has she being pregnad but it could be a week or two Before she delivers, make sure to have fruit flies ready an a separate enclosure for the Babies.

This is a jacksonii jacksonii females can have one or 3 horns, xantholophus females in general have no horns, although Hawaii femaled can have one and some times maybe 3, Merus have one or none.

I believe all chameleons can be sexed with the bulge at base of tail where the hemepenes is located. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Not sure if this would apply with pygmies.

This thread is by someone who had good results with Jack Jack babies. She used individual glass viv. indoors. Other successful breeders have had luck raising them outdoors in heavily planted cages.

Oh I'm aware they can too, I've just never seen it personally.
