Female Veiled Chameleon W/Eggs

Hey Everyone,
So my veiled chameleon is pregnant with unfertilized eggs, first time laying and im
just being a nervous nelly over here 🥵 I noticed restless behavior in early february(climbing all around cage, walking on the bottom, apparent color spots which folks said was indicative of egg production) I just want everyone’s thoughts on how she’s looking and when/if I should grow concerned. she hadn’t shown much interest in food going on a few weeks but did eat a few crickets that I left to climb in the cage. Please let me know what info you need from me to help advise, thanks:)

Hey there. Do you have a lay bin? IF so can you show a pic of it in the cage and tell us what you used for the substrate?

Hey,
i do have a laybin with 50%organic garden/potting mix and playground sand which I spray to keep moist. The bin is 13.75x8x5 inches
i have moved the cage away from this window to the corner of the room where it is away from the sunlight and I have changed the light dome to the proper light T5H0 Sorry i don’t have picture in irs currently location. I also moved the cronos so it’s more obscuring the lay bin. misting every 6 hours for 1 min plus I hand mist occasionally. basking temp is around 75.

dig a test tunnel with a spoon to make sure it is easy for her to dig through and not overly wet. You want it to hold the tunnel you dig.

Hello, llooks like you moved the fake ivy to the outside of the cage. Thats was a good move vieleds especially females like to nibble on leaves. I will let Beman go over cage stuff with you. Mine compketely stopped eating about 4 days begorw laying. She refused to use the laybin and over a three day period laid 10 eggs. Now mine is a panther and they lay less eggs. What you need to do is put a privacy cover around the cage. I used card board boxes but many people fasten a sheet or beach towel around three sides leaving the back open. Chams can become egg bound if they dont have privacy or if they are interrupted during the laying process. i personally would put the privacy covers up now since she is showing all signs or when she stops eating completely. Do not mist while she is at the bottom as you may interrupt her. When she is done she will come up for heat and need water and food. i like to give mine hornworms after a lay. Its a treat and hydrates them. Also i shot the hornworm up with calcium as she is depleted. Like i said mine took three days. She came up then went back down again so dont remove privacy cover until you are sure she is done. once done her colors should return to normal mine turned black then back go orange sherbert when done. after u r sure she is done i would wait a few days just to be sure, then remove the privacy and thr laybin and count the eggs. Egg day is a coming so good luck!
