Pseudomonas has a distinctive door somewhat like rotten grapes.

I always thought it smelled more like corn chips.

A couple of the vets doubted me when I would "diagnose" it before they did the culture and sensitivity test...so I would bet them!

I guess it's just a matter of perspective. I could always tell when I went into an exam room if the dogs had an ear or skin infection. Sometimes you just lift the bandage and your nose knows.
I don't know about sweet smells in reptiles but in mammal urine it could indicate a problem.

I can usually smell the infections too.
I doubt we can smell chameleon urine the same way since it's usually a solid and likely would t give the odour off as readily.

Insects have specific doors too...at least many of them do.

well we brought jasmine to the vet as well as jango... the vet was very shocked lol but said it was nothing to worry about because she looked healthy and her behaviors were normal too. They said if we start seeing abnormal skin color or texture then bring her back

Wait you don’t sniff yours?? Not going to lie I smell Larry all the time, reason when I first got him he smelled like rotting fish, can’t remember who but someone told me when they smell like that they have coccidia. Soooo since then I smell my guys

I thought most lizards smelled "sweet". Other than breath that could stop a train, the tegu also smells syrup like. Or maybe your kids are following the letter of the law, and are only handling the lizards after they eat, so they dont have to wash their hands

I've never had the desire to smell my beardie (anyone who owns a beardie probably knows why).
