Root Rot?, Is the soil able to dry between waterings? Do you notice a smell comming from the pot?

You could remove it and repot it let it sit in the sun for a little while. It may be too late to save it.

buy a new one 4.95 at home depot, never mind you don't have home depot do you, but how much more could it be somewhere else? if you can find them cheap get 2, and switch them out periodically

i paid £10 each for mine so i got a couple anyway. it does smell alittle funky but i thought that was fecal. its able to dry out between mistin, sometimes worry if its gettin enough

Do you have the pot raised up off the floor. Sometimes water will collect under and not allow it to drain completely. It may look like it is dry but stays wet around the roots. Having it raised even a half in off the bottom will help. Even a metal trivet would work.

if you smell ammonia coming from the base of the plant its most likely root rot as Ryan said.

I sure hope that doesn't mean that you have fecal laying around in the pot's dirt. Recently, I went to the vent and found out that my chameleon has nematodes. My vet blamed it on the hibiscus I kept in my cage; which had some extra "chameleon fertilizer" on top of the dirt. I think my little bugger had been sampling the dirt and made himself sick. Now, this plant sits outside my front door and I bought a whole new plant for my chameleon. Keep and eye out for that stuff so that you don't end up with the same problem I had.
