How do you all get your males fired up? We tried a mirror with no reaction...he just tried to climb up matt's arm .lol. Any tips? Thanks!

In the shower? You put him in the shower? Like with a rubber duckie and everything? lol.

The rubber ducky is in the bath not the shower..... Jeese.I shower all my juvenile and adult chams once a week or two. I put a plant in the shower and bounce tempid water off the shower wall to spray on them. I leave them in for 15 mins to a half an hour.
Rhocasygoth in the shower
IceFyre as a juvie in the shower
Give it a shot........it's great for hydration. Just make sure the water isn't hot or cold.

how about a camera?
all my chameleons get fired up when a camera is pointing at them.

Well, ours is only really pretty when he sleeps and we can fire him up my moving fast around him but only when he's really grumpy (like say we wake him up..poor baby lol)
Here are a few old pictures...about 7 months old.
But we can't seem to get him to puff out on a regular occassion for pictures. This is is normal "I'm out of the cage" color. He only gets fired up when he feels like it....or especially grumpy.
And BTW- you should use a rubber duck in the shower...it's so much cooler than in the bath tub... geesh. lol.

I tried the ducky in the shower thing but the stupid thing just sits there on the floor and doesn't do anything then it tries to trip me when I get out.........I must be doing something wrong.

I like to use another male to fire up my chameleons.
The mirror trick works ok, but nothing beats the real deal.
Most of my male lose intrest in the mirror quickly.
My chameleons fire up diffrently depending on who and what you show them.
Like when a male sees a female he flashes different colors then when he sees another male.
Most of my males get the "spoke wheel" stripes in the face when they see a female.
Territorial color changes are different when they are in their own cage, or when they are on neutal ground(a tree outside).

Our guy showed NO interest in the mirror. He was like " Wow..I look good...hey, can I get on your head dad?"

They are each semi unique IMO. My blue bar male will fire up if he sees a male across the room while inside his cage...and head bobs for the ladies even at a glimpse of one.
Then my reb bar who has never fired up......even with a male next to him. Also no reaction to the ladies...which is disapointing since Im hoping to breed him someday.
