first time outside for Splat

Hi everyone,

well it was the 4th of July and it wasn't raining...YES!!!!
so I took Splat outside for the first time.

it was a bit breazy but he darkened right up once in the sun, and then relaxed a bit and brightned his colors.
he was showing off his blues and greens that day in the sun.

Splat is now 6 months old.
the sire is Odo from Liddy at Kammerflage.com
5 1/2" STV, 11" total.
eats like a linebacker.
comes out of his cage on his own if the door is left open.

he has already left me 3 "gifts" on his basking branch the last 3 days, the horny bum...

I feed him mostly adult crickets now. butterworms and supers as well.
all well gutloaded on veried greens, orange slices, potato, and carrots.


Splat outside looking at my tall buildings, trees and small birds for the first time.

I feel that his nice nails come from his great background and the use of miner-all.

Splat desides to find some shade.

ahhh, much cooler and quieter.

I also babysitted a forum member's Nosey Be, and had to see what Splat would do if I brought him near him....this was from a week ago.

sadly, Splat missed the show I put on out in Long Island.

Harry Splat is showing some really nice colors. Maybe you should have kept the other cham, that sure had Splat showing off some great colors.

thanks for the kind words everyone.

I'm getting things ready for Splat's new adult cage.
he should be in it by the end of this month or the begining of next month the latest.
just depends on if I want to build his cage or buy one...still not sure yet.

the reason I'm thinking of building is because he's a cage climber since he's been a baby. I want to insure he keeps his great nails.

I love wednesdays more then any other day, its "Sun Day"!

I will have the kids out tomorrow for some sun and be sure to take some new photos too!

look up all my Splat photo threads and you'll see him starting at 6 weeks old.
I think I was the first person to get any babys from Odo's Sambava wife...the pics above don't do him any justice as they were originaly 4000 x 3000 pixels, and had to resize them down to 1024 x 768.
the detail and color lost almost made me cry.

my guy is friendly.
not shy at all...
(my old friend stoped by yesterday and saw him for the first time. he put his face right up against the screen and Splat walked right over to him and stared right back at him through the screen before continueing his climbing on the cage. )

eats like he's going to try for next year's Nathen's hotdog eating contest.
drinks like a fish, now that I cought him drinking behind my back alot.

you will love yours.

sun? what is this sun you speak of?
ever since I got Splat it has rained almost every other day.
in June we had 7 dry days.
I just washed my car for the first time in two months on the 4th.
after 3 sunny days in a row, it just started to rain now.

But yeah, I couldn't wait to take him outside.
he was scared a little bit at first with all the wind, but once that died down he was fine.
I can't wait to take him out again.
