first time!!

mathew

New Member
I just set up my six month old veileds cage up last night. Put my female in there an hour ago. It only took about ten minutes before they started mating. Amazing!! It's pretty exciting she was super receptive went over and got right in front of him and stopped. Just felt like telling someone. Got a pic but don't know how to get it on here from my phone

She's a year and a half old. This is my first time also so any advice would be appreciated. Like now they have done there thing and now they've moved spots and are doing it again. Is this normal?? How long should I leave her in his enclosure? How do i know he has git the job done?? I have some books and read a ton of stuff just wandering if anyone that has experience in breeding veileds thinks. Thank you

Got tapatalk and can put pics on here. I should have taken more of them breeding but he doesn't like me and and didn't like me bothering them so I only took one

I left my male In with the female for 24 hours but its up to the female, when she turns black and is hissing she clearly no longer wants him to be in there

Here's some pics of them. The first is her before breeding second after and third him. Thanks for everyone's input

gravid females are gorgeous in my opinion!

good luck!

i have my own veiled eggs incubatng right now, due to hatch any day.

Thank you. Can you give me any tips on incubation. Should I use an incubator or just keep them dark and room temperature? Not really sure I've read a lot of things on both. Just looking for advice from someone who has done it. Thank you

i was reading your thread and noticed about "gravid colors" how do i know if my female veiled is showing her gravid color? :) i also have mated her two weeks ago and i cant tell if she's gravid cause the mating only lasted for 2 minutes :) but i tried putting them together and she's not receptive. any thoughts please?:)

I say if she won't let him near her she's probably gravid. It was like night and day from the day. She is now a lot darker in general now and is so pretty when she's upset. She's just a heck of a lot different than she was. But I'm just starting out myself.
