Flooding Issues?

I have a mister and a drip system that gives a LOT of drainage out the bottom of the cage into a drip-pan (Thats my method) . I was wondering if anyone has any pictures of their "Drainage system"/techniques. Thanks ladies and gentlemen! :D

I use a utility sink which let's the water drain into a bucket and i just empty the bucket every night
pictures are in my thread "new cage"

i dont have pics but this is what i rigged up when my cage kept flooding. I drilled a hole in the plexiglass bottom, put a little tube through the hole then cut a little bit of a washcloth up and folded that in half, I stretched it so that it is under my plants like 3 inches away from eachother and the cloth only covers half of the little drain hole. Soo the cloth absorbs the water and the gap that it doesn't cover in the hole let's the water go easily from the cloth thru the tube and down into a bucket under the cage. It works like a charm and within 5 minutes or so of having a nearly flooded cage from misting it is dry as a whistle :D

I am wayyy struggling in the drainage area!! I had finally figured out a good method but i just moved Tanzy to his big boy cage and am going to have to figure something else out, fastt :)

I would love it if people would post more pix of there setups.

I have been really happy with my drainage system. I am using a LLLreptile drainage tray and raise one corner 1/4" and in the opposite corner I placed a hole with a brass bung that I picked up at Lowe's the connects to a 3/8" tube that goes into a sterilite container that I would only NEED to empty every month but do it every week. I have to set up another tray here in a couple of days so I will try and take pictures.

This is exactly what i want to do if i am picturing it correctly. What is a bung? like a tube. . or an L shaped... .

This is my drainage system... Its a lifted 2" table mounted on a PVC pipe foundation and it simply drains into a bucket

It's basically a pipe that is flared on one end so that it makes a tight fit with the hole in the plastic that I drill. I take and glue it into the tray with zap-a-gap CA.

I do what Clark does, everything drains into a large square plastic container that the reptibreeze cage stands in. There is a slight tilt under the container that "encourages" the water towards a certain corner where I have drilled a small hole. I have a bucket under the hole at all times catching the water. Twice a day I pop my rubber gloves on, get the kitchen paper out and sweep all the rest of the water and stupid suicidal locusts and cham poo, fallen leaves etc into the hole / bucket and chuck it all out.

Keeps everything smelling fresh and cage looking clean. Also creates two good "DRY" periods a day before the mistings which I read somewhere was important

Awesome drainage system guys! All have the same basic idea as mine ( my cage that I have yet to build, that I am building on wednesday) I will post pictures of it shortly!

I've not yet finished my drainage system... I am planning on having it done between today and tomorrow....my chams come home on Friday. the basic idea is this.... I have 3 cages each w a 2x2 footprint and each bottom is made of screen. So I've built a 7'x3' tray from plywood... I used an epoxy resin on the inside of the tray to make it resistant to water... basically a thick glaze for lack of a better word...I am going to put rails from front to back to set the cages on... the tray will be raised slightly front to force water to the back where there will be 3 drains which will be plumbed to a single 5 gal bucket.... I've yet to test it... built the tray yesterday.... once I have it up and plumbed I will post pics

Here it is!

Here is my design of a custom drainage piece of furniture! I am painting it tomorrow! :D
The cage is supported by PVC piping that is flush with the outer supports. The PVC piping allows for maximum drainage into the drip pan (That is easily removed).
Hope everyone likes it! I think it cost me $20 :)

Its done!

So! I just finished the cages piece of furniture! Its the drainage system I have created.
The bars across the top are made of PVC Pipe and the drip pan slides right in under that :)
Its coated with a low VOC paint with a sealant to prevent mold from growing on the wood... LOVE this design especially since I use to go through a LOT of paper towels cleaning up excess water
LOVE LOVE LOVE :D:D:D
