We went to feed the iguanas this weekend and my husband was able to get some pretty nice photos. We plan to make a canvas of one to donate for the auction at The Iguana Fest.

A friend was given an iguana years ago by a guy who had hand raised it. It was huge and good tempered but wouldn't eat and was getting so thin that it needed to have the problem solved so he asked me if I would bring it home...he worked and didn't have the time to work with but much.. I said yes and the darned thing wouldn't eat for me no matter what I tempted it with. I finally resorted to "forcing," it to open its mouth and slipping something in. After doing this twice it suddenly started to open its mouth on it's own as long as I "handed" it food...so I placed a plate of food in front of it and it wouldn't eat. I handed it food and it ate....would not eat from the plate. My friend finally was able to get in touch with the guy who had raised it...and guess what?? He said it wouldn't eat without being hand fed. It fattened up quickly and my friend sold the Iggie to someone who had the time to hand feed it!

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.

Michelle, I send you some info on the festival. Hopefully you can come. It's not to far from where you live.
