Florida legal roaches

As you are probably aware, south Florida is full of roaches.
Giant, flying roaches!
However, getting Dubia feeder roaches is now illegal. Because they pose an escape risk and might become another invasive species...Like Chameleons.
Is anyone aware of a feeder roach that is both not very "roach like" Like a Palmetto bug. And is also legal to get down here?

Yup...we can have discoids here, amongst a few other types. I don’t want flyers or good climbers so I stick with discoids, though I did get some Surinam from @jamest0o0 (climbers). https://www.roachcrossing.com/category/for-sale/cockroaches/roach-type/florida-legal/ gives great info on the various types.

Discoids are great, they are bigger and meatier and slower and don't climb

Does your cham still strike well or do you have to force feed basically?

I've ordered 30 Horseshoe crab roaches.
Although I won't start feeding them until I have a 2nd generation.

I wanted discoid roaches but there arent many places that I've seen that aren't really pricey, I could start a colony but I'd rather just buy them lol sounds too difficult.

Yeah I just feel like I wouldnt be able to raise roaches properly, keeping a chameleon isnt very difficult though, not as bad as people made it out to be.

Dude..... A majority of feeder roaches are "plug and play" plug in a heat pad on the side, keep it at 75 to 80 degrees, add roaches, and your set.

Just feed them fresh veggies/fruit and whatever dog/cat food you want and wait.

Lobster roaches(Nauphoeta cinerea) can even thrive at typical room temps...
