Wondering what other plants other then hibiscus people are allowing their chams to munch on. I hear they love flowers!

Nasturtiums are one i would like to try as i know they are healthy for other reptiles

So, What is everyone's Chameleons eating?

i woudl say no on nasturiums.

but i use pothos, scheffelara, ficus, and will be using devils ivy.

You can use a camellia! The strong plant and they have beatiful flowers. Most important thing they're safe for you cham.:)

i wanted to buy some honey suckle, anyone had this before? mabey that would be pritty/yummy/safe ^^

Alright , Hmmmm. How about Marigolds? I heard somewhere that they are edible. Not sure if thats true, it sounded kind of odd to me. Any opinions on that?

Good to know! my next order of business which was brought on by a phantom scent would be lilacs and forsythia ( Very vine like bush with little yellow flowers)

I dont think either of those are... though i personally would just stick with whatever is on the safe plant list.

Thats probably what i will do! haha I wouldnt want to take any risks with my little buddy. ( well.. bigger buddy, he's grown alot recently)

My question is, how often are those safe plant lists updated?

the scientist in me makes me wonder about what things are and are not safe and exactly which chemicals in said plants cause them to be " toxic" to chameleons and yet sometimes safe to other reptiles.

I know in alot of cases it can be from the sap of the plant that causes irritation but what exactly causes this? Does anyone know.

Also, getting back on track here, What about things like the clover flowers. my yard gets filled with them. i wouldnt want him to accidently eat one and have it turn out that they are poison.
