Flukers Complete Cricket Diet (orange cubes)

I have been using this product for some time now, but no matter how many reviews I read no one actually talks about the quality of the vitamins in it. Does anyone know if using these cubes alone will give the crickets enough D3 and calcium? I have been barely been dusting crickets because I dont want to over do it, and want to make sure its the right choice.

All i hear about fluckers in bad stuff. IDK for sure what the vitamins are but im sure someone will fill you in. Does your cham get any natural sunlight? (Unfiltered)

I have a large enclosure about 3.5'x3.5'x4.5'. The way it is positioned in the room it has about half the cage in a window that gets the evening sun. It is filtered thru the window of course. The more I keep reading about it, the more I'm thinking about taking her outside to play. The tropical humidity and temperature here in Baton Rouge is perfect for her. In the mean time she has been on the Powersun 100W (if I remember correctly).

Its not a very good product, IMHO. No, it will not provide the nutrients your chameleon needs. Certainly you should not stop lightly dusting your crickets with calcium.
A simple search of this forum on flukers orange cubes if you want opinions other than my own

If you're just looking at it as hydration for your crickets then it's probably okay. You still want to feed the crickets healthy food and dust them with calcium. It's like drinking vitamin enriched water doesn't mean you don't have to eat your veggies with dinner.

I still have a huge jar of those things in the fridge. I was going to use them as water supplements for breeding crickets (not feeder crix)... I'll give them to anyone who wants them :)

Just cutting up a regular orange is cheaper and infinitely better.

Take your Cham outside or open the window! the filtered light does nothing for them physically and they need the UVB.

Alrighty, I'll go get some of the high calcium cricket supplement they can eat tomorrow. Actually, I've heard about a few different supplements online, but what do y'all recommend to be the best all around supplement? I'm planning on taking her outside tomorrow for the first time. I'm really excited for her. Now from what I read, it seems like even without unfiltered natural sunlight the PowersunUV is good for UVA and UVB. Am I wrong?

I personally like the rep-cal vitamin free calcium, and the sticky tongue farms mineral-O vitamin free calcium mineral supplement.
The sticky tongues mineral -I is good if you want one with Vitamin D.
proper gutloading will take care of most vitamin needs, butg herptivite is a popular vitamin powder, as is reptivite.
A recently popular vitamin and mineral combination product is Repashy calcium plus.

Mine seem to love the orange cubes. So I'll think I'll continue to use them for hydration since they're so easy to clean up and so many don't die. I've heard a lot of good things about the sticky tongue farm stuff, and I'll think I'll with that one. Now I know with herptivite, sticky tongue and what not there's a rotation that people use them. Any particular routine anyone uses? I usually only buy enough crickets to last a week. So multi week circuits with different things really wouldn't work for me. I guess that's why I'm looking for one multivitamin I can give so they have a good 24 hrs to absorb it, and I'm not giving them too much different stuff everyday.

check out the links I provided above, in particular the one on supplements, and you'll be able to determine a good scheduled based on your particular situation. (You're not only offering crickets, right?)

No, I'm using crickets, superworms, wax worms, fruit flys, and I'm trying to find some butter worms but no luck yet.

The conclusion on this product from our lab is that if you already have it no need to get rid of it. It's a pretty good water source but just physically cannot contain enough vitamins and minerals to use as a primary supplementation source. So might as well use it up if you have but it's way overpriced to really be a viable product to use.

elliott/gesang/http://www.elliotsbutterworms.com/ has but due to the heat wave, needs you to pick them up at your PO instead of going out on delivery.

Haha I think "Orange Cubes" is just a fancy word for carrots... except with not all the nutrients :p Yeah as others are saying, ditch that and go for some other, better prepared gutloads. Bug Burger and Cricket Crack are two of the best out there, you will probably have to order online. Also gutload with collard greens, mustard greens, dandelion greens, kale, romaine lettuce, apples, oranges, oats, etc. Look at Sandra's blog, she has some amazing recipes for gutload and the nutrients and feeding frequency for what you decide to use.

Oh man, I've been reading for hours no on gutloading, and wow sandrachameleon has an incredible amount of info. I got some butterworms ordered from Carolina Pet Supply. I was going to go with Elliot's, but it says in the product statement they're wild caught in their natural habitat in Chile. Reading so much about WC parasites, I chose Carolina as they are privately bred. Good call? I'm leaning toward bug burger right now, but even Sandra didn't have supplement info on it or cricket crack. Anyone know much about them? I know bug burger is a rephasy and that's about it.
