how do you keep your flies once they have "hatched"

i am looking for creative ideas on how to keep/feed and water flies until you feed them.

i so far have used deli cups but there is got to be a better way to keep and transfer them to the chams cage without "freezing" them before changing food or water.

i have considered a screen cage with a smaller opening fo access but the idea is still in my head
