Foggers?

Hey guys, was browsing online for a new uv bulb for my Cham because it's had it's 6 months off life. Anyway I came across some foggers and I was wondering if they was any good for a chameleon or if it would just be a waste of money. I was thinking off using it whilst still keeping up with the manual misting I do. Any help or feedback anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

I just bought one and I think it was a waste of 50$. It was suppose to go with my fountain but u couldn't have the cover on while it was running and it only misted for about three mins before the water ran to low. I decided to put it in a cup on top of the enclosure to let the mist run down in thru the screen but I still think it was a huge waste.

I was told You can probably get a cool mist humidifier for way less at Walmart or shoppers drug Mart

Save your dough

I went the fogger route early on for my cham but you run into some problems.

Pros: Looks really cool!

Cons: Doesn't raise the overall humidity much at all
Only affects a small area
Most of the "fog" falls down to the bottom
Have to clean constantly because mildew grows in the tubing, which is tough to clean
Tough to aim it where you want

To be honest foggers are for turtles, frogs, or glass enclosures. I wish I would have saved the $30 and put it towards the mistking. Hope this helps. GL

I'm going to play devils advocate here and say I currently have 2 foggers. I purchased 1 Repti-fogger and both my chams loved it! They'd sit under it all afternoon and soak it all in. When my baby chams arrived I was having trouble keeping their humidity up so I moved it onto them and it's been amazing. In fact, my adults missed their fogger so much that my husband bought them another one last weekend!

I find it hard to keep the humidity up in a screen enclosure so i covered 3 sides with a clear drop cloth and I find the fogger really does help...just my 2 cents! :D

(I still mist 2-3x a day and have 2 drip cups going twice a day as well. The foggers are not a substitute for misting, although if you have the reptifogger on full blast it will create water droplets on your live plants!)

I'm just gunna guess it's one off then things everyone has to try and I think I will. Would it be better to have it flowing from the top so it drifts down and settles? Or to have it just flow from the bottom. I will still continue to manually mist daily like I do. I also have a dripper that I run and my Cham seems to love that as he like to run through it and let it drip on him and sometimes he just sits under it.

Thanks for your current input guys :)

since it all gathers kinda at the bottom, I have mine flowing from the top of the enclosure. If you're going to get one, try the reptifogger. I've looked at reviews of some of the other cheaper ones and the consensus is not good.

I had some trouble with my first fogger but my store replaced it for me no problem. Other than that one hiccup, its been great! Also, this model is super quiet :)

Thanks for your advice, I've been looking around and what's available and it seems the repti fogger that you suggest does seem to have a lot of good reviews, there seems to be a lot of reviews for other makes that say that after one use they either break or never work the same.
