As most of you know there's a hurricane on the way, and we'll probably lose power. We're getting a generator this week but it might not be in time. So see you guys whenever this is over. Be safe!

Good luck with any stormy weather you have everyone :) Come to Britain if it gets too much, it's a 'moderate' climate but we like to complain a lot about the rain :D

I went to New York once at Christmas time. Nice walking round the Bronx Zoo in the snow, wouldn't move there for the climate myself
Anyway, I like the moderate climate here, keeps it a green and pleasant land
Lottery win for me though and I'll be Chamifornia dreamin' and staying in the hotel Chamifornia :D After my holiday to Madagascar........

Is this hurricane sandy? Stay safe everyone. Hope it passes soon as I'm heading your way soon.:)

I love NY weather, no guessing, snow in the winter, sun in the summer! But you're right, it wasn't for the weather that we moved! It was the superior selection of Pop Tarts.

But what do you do when you want a chocolate hobnob and a proper cup of tea? :p

I go to the British section at the supermarket ;)

Not even been here a year yet. You may recognise me from such things as The Removal Men S02E01 on Channel 5...

I bet there are some things you just can't get done properly there though. You can't get out to a greasy spoon and have a full English breakfast after a vodka binge.............surely no amount of pop tarts makes up for being away from Marmite :)
I don't watch reality tv if I can possibly help it. Was it a fun one or was there lots of shouting?

The Cadbury's chocolate is rubbish here, and when hungover from flavoured vodka, I go to a diner for eggs, bacon, pancakes and maple syrup!

It wasn't shouty, there's only about 10 mins of our family! Was an utter sham. We had to wear the same clothes some days, change several times on other days and pretend our furniture was delayed to add drama. Plus they asked us to follow an actual script.

Sounds like I could get used to it, I guess

And yeah, reality tv.....just so unrealistic :D

It's really opened my eyes about that stuff. I still watch some, but now painfully aware that they have been subjected to filming for hours before being fed lines just to get some peace!

Here is some footage that we shot at 6pm on Myrtle Beach of the outer bands.
One can here the wind kicking up. Nice stuff!!

the storm has hit!! weather report for altoona:

nothing but rain since 7:00 lastnight, will have 50+ mile an hour wind warnings come noon today. public schools are still attending, but penn state altoona is shutting down at noon. im skipping school anyways because yti is too dumb to cancel. 3-6 inches of rain predicted, not looking forward to going to work at 6 because the boulevard on the way there floods pretty badly. i hope they lose power so i dont have to go. have all emergency materials on hand, went shopping this weekend and have plenty of food, water, batteries, blankets set out prepared to cover reptiles in the event we lose power. tonight, the storm is said to intensify to possibly have an evacuation of the city tomorrow...the jr. high is set up for this. the stock market is shut down today, which is very very odd because of the election.

so, all in all, this thing is pretty serious. and this is in altoona, which is in central pa, nowhere near a coast. im excited and scared at the same time lol.

I live on the water [Great South Bay] in Lindenhurst Long Island and the street and yard has been flooded since yesterday. If the tide goes down [low tide @3pm] i may try to get out. Will post some pics if possile.

Pictures aren't that important. Just stay safe!
