Hello. Im new. I have a 4 month old Blu bar Ambanja male from Screameleons.

I was woundering if any had any ideas for fresh gutload foods that will be safe for my growing baby. Ive used Mustard Greens, Turnip Greens, Green Lettace, Carrots, Apple, Orange. I want to offer something different every week or two, so I can avoid a hunger strike. But all the web sites just say these and bee pollen.

Any Ideas will be helpful:)

you mean for gutloading the bugs, right? these are good: Squash, dandelion, papaya, seaweed, carrot, yam, oranges, mustard greens, blackberries.
Lettuce, other than Romaine lettuce, is no good.

To avoid a hunger strike, use different types of bugs, not just different gutloads in the same couple of bugs

I heard that you should stay away from spinach and veggies from the cabbage family. Something about them hindering absorption of minerals. Just throwin that out there for ya.

What is the point of a dry gut load? Is it necessary? I thought fruits and veggies were the way to go, is the dry just to cut back on the dent to your wallet?

gutload with foods that are higher in calcium than phosphorous as well as full of vitamins. dandelion leaves, squash, hibiscus leaves and flowers, yam, orange, papaya, carrot, alfalfa sprouts, mustard greens, pomegranet, kale, collard greens, romaine, ...

Doesnt hurt to have both dry and wet gutloads.

Yes, Spinnach and broccoli are high in oxalic acid (reduces bio availability of calcium) and I believe they also mess with Iodine. Avoid them. See: https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/sandrachameleon/215-oxalic-acid-content-vegetables.html
