FRUIT AND LETTUCE - NO GOOD!

I've tried my veiled (juvenile) chameleon on bits of fruit and lettuce, always without success. Is it ok if he doesn't have this in his diet. He eats crickets, hoppers and an odd waxworm. Although, recently, he's gone off the waxworms. Some days he doesn't bother with anything to eat! Is this normal?

Thanks for any advice folks.

All of my Veileds are ravenous, eating machines.
They quickly eat ANY type of feeders that I offer.
They also eat a bit of Pathos.
But it's just growing in their enclosures anyway.

A few times I've added a Hibiscus flower or two into my enclosures to feed a rogue cricket or two...
Many times, my Veileds have also eaten some of the flowers.
Clearly, they like what they like.
