fruit fly food

what is the stuff that you put at the bottom of a fruit fly culture that they eat and reproduce in? If its not anything specific could you give me ideas on some mixtures to put in there. I bought a culture from the kammers and I wanted to start some new cultures when I start to breed so i was curious how to start it.

The truly easiest way is to buy it from a fruit fly selling place. I had a recipe that was basically mashed potatos and some brewers yeast (maybe something else), but I never could get it right. My flies kept dying in it.

www.joshsfrogs.com has great ff mixes as well. I breed frogs as well as chameleons and his smell great and last a long time.
