I want to make the milk jug feeder. I don't have a glue gun and don't really want to buy one. Is there any other type of glue I can use to secure the screen to the inside of the jug? Or if there is any other ways other then glue to secure it.
Thanks.
Use Twistie ties from the store or wire from a hard ware store then put four holes in the back of the jug with two at the top and two at the bottom the stick the wires in them through the screen then twist them each wire.
I had seen a video with someone making a feeder jug. In the vid, he said to make sure the screen was glued all the way around so the insects could not get behind the screen. He had it happen to him and it did a little damage to his Cham who kept trying to get to it through the screen. Thats why i tthought it had to be glued. Any thoughts.
Funny posts I don't know which would be toxic either. I had thought about craft glue, but again dk. Maybe aquarium silicone. That shouldn't be toxic. Might try that.i work at an aquarium store, so easy to get. Any other thoughts you or anyone comes up with let me know.
i usually sew things to the side of the cage. you'd be surprised how strong thread can be. you can also use fishing wire but if you have to puncture it through the container the thread &needle would work better.
so i used the 2 sided tape, i think it worked really well.
i only had a 1 gallon so for my taste it is too big.
i will make one with a half gallon jug too.
1st 2 pics are whole jug and after cutting
