Going out of town

So I'm going to be going out of town for few days. What should I do for my chameleon, food wise, misting wise, and turning on/off the lights?

I would buy a timer for the lights (cheap at wal mart or something) as well as a power strip.

Figure out (and test) setting it up so that it goes on when you normally turn on lights, and goes off when you turn them off.

Plug the timer into the wall, and then the power strip into the timer, and then the lights into the power strip.

As for food, it depends on how old he is. If he is young, he should probably be getting food every day.

I would get a little bowl and put very very small worms (meal worms, super worms, or any bug that's not a cricket, like dubias) or very large depending on how old he is, and just leave a WHOLE lot in there (depending on how long you'll be gone).

If you'll be gone for 2 days and he eats 10 a day, put 20 in there, etc.

Or: get someone to come and feed him every day.

Misting, buy a "little dripper" from a petco or something. This is ONLY if you have drainage, otherwise it will get water everywhere. Fill it up and let it run very slow for the chammy to drink.

They can go a couple days without mist, IMHO. Or have someone come "cham sit" and mist.

:)

I have a petsitter for when I go out of town. Maybe you could train a friend or neighbor how to take care of your Cham. Even if you set everything up as suggested above, I would still have someone that you can trust, come by at least once a day to check on him.
