ok guys i need some help
currently he is 17 weeks old(panther)
kept in a 100 gallon reparium(he had been in a shed?)
temps under the basking spot is 85,humiditiy right now(since it has been raining is 74%,
lighting i have a 10 reptic glow(it is up on top of bowls since he gets on the top of the cage.)
he gets misted 3 times aday. he wake up(when the light come on at 8) then i mist at 9:30,10:00 then again around 2 ish and then again about 6 ish.
lights out are at 8.
he is eating crickets that have been gut loaded with dandelions, collard greens, and endive. as of right now i haven't gotten any supplements but will do tht this up coming week. he had the white comeing out of his nose so decided to hold off for a bit.
he also has a dripper, lots of vines.
usually he goes to sleep at around 5ish. which would be 7 where he came from. but seems that he is slowly adjusting. i have only noticed that he has eaten a few crickets but he seems to be getting a bit more of an appetite daily.
however today(it has been super dark, and very stormy out, also very very humig). i do have a fan going around but not blowing right on him. he went to bed today at 3 o'clock. not sure if i should mist him again tonight or no?
what could be going on?
ideas? guesses? suggesions?

Humidity

Eyes are the key to how a chameleon is feeling...if they are sleeping around 3 then something is wrong and they don't feel good. I would say that if he is exposed to constant, for a day or two, humidity of 75% then he will get sick. If you are keeping him outside get him in. A good constant humidity is around 45 or 50% for panthers and peaking at misting time. Also I would quit misting at 6pm, that is very close to the time he will go to sleep, no matter what time you turn the lights out they know that the sun is down and then they go to sleep. So, my guess is he is getting sick bc of constant high humidity and misting too close to bedtime.

ok thanks,i should probably say it better.. usually it is around 40 to 55 and then of course it gets a bit higher after i mist for a short bit.
it was that high today b/c it has been storming and raining since about 3 am.
i will however stop misting at 6. when should i do the last misting?
he has been awake all day, just went down to where he sleeps at 3 and hasn't been back up.

yes he is inside,it has just started to get nice here every now and again. but hopefully once we get past this cold front(which is why it was stormin). we will warm up and be able to get him outside some.
i dont' mist but maybe a couple minutes,i never really times it. he usually drinks fairly quickly and the enclosure has some water all over it. i will change the mistig around some. thanks for pointing that out to me,i (obviously) thought 2 hours after a mist before bed was enouogh.
he has been or so it seemed to be adjustin well, and was starting to get more colors and etc. but then when he went to bed today at 3 that kinda of worried me. i did ask the owner from where i got him and he said that the humidity from where he was was 70's(it was flordia).
any idea why he suddenly went to bed so early?
thanks for your speedy help.

Kim, One of my younger veileds (5 months) that came from the west coast had a very hard time adjusting to a sleeping schedule. I finally solved it by making sure that his room was pitch black at night. He's by the window and will typically go to his sleeping spot about an hour before sundown and stays awake there until it gets dark. Mine will also go to bed much earlier on cloudy or rainy days. I'm in Louisiana and it was very stormy today. He went to his sleeping spot at about 4:30 instead of his usual 7:00. He always stays awake though until it gets dark. Hopefully, yours is doing the same and you don't have a problem. Good luck and let us know. David
