Yesterday I got my first chameleon. It is a male ambanja blue panther chameleon, he is 3 months old. He seems to be drinking alot so far, but didn't eat anything yesterday. Today I found him hanging upside down some where on a lower branch, the same he was at yesterday night. So I guess he fell asleep there. I held a cup before him and he ate 1 cricket, like 10 more to go now I guess. I put the cup in his enclosure, I hope he find it soon. I hope everything goes well, what do you guys think, does he look healthy?

"He" looks more like a she to me. Some better pictures of the tail behind the vent area would help determine if I'm right or wrong.

I probably should have explained what I was looking for better. I need more of a side profile shot, but from everything I have seen I do not see a hemipenal bulge. Here is a picture of my juvenile male, you can see a bulge in the base of the tail right after the vent.

I see a lump/bulge on the top of the tail, which looks irregular to me, but I still do not see a hemipenal bulge on the bottom side near the vent. I still stick to my original assessment of your panther being female.

Damnit I am pissed off right now. You guys sure his male part isn't just on the small side? :(
I think I remember seeing some small blue spots yesterday. Damnit I guess I need to think of a new name.

Don't feel bad. I was told the same thing about a vailed chameleon, and HE turned out a SHE. LOL.

Though she does look dehydrated, keep it raining for your little princess

Female can show blues, reds turqoise colors, especially when young. Here is my juvenile female as an example.

When we brought our Mister Li-zard into our home we were told he was a Veiled chameleon, turned out he was a Graceful chameleon. But, we love him lots anyway.
